NOSTALGIA AT IT'S BEST - Uphams of Brixham (1817 - 1984) had their roots firmly centered in the fishing industry. Their diverse skills were in much demand not just for working vessels but a goodly number of pleasure craft were built embracing the traditional designs of the day. The Falmouth Quay Punt famously served as the 'taxi' between shore and ships moored offshore with many operating solely under sail (no engine) - a testimonial to their sailing prowess. They were also extensively used for fishing having a wide beam and substantial volume for load carrying. Because of their proven capabilities, many were replicated as sailing leisure craft, and it is thought 'May Fly' is very much based on the Quay Punt design. Full of nostalgia and representing 15 years of faithful restoration by the current ownership, ‘May Fly’ will no doubt be much admired at classic boat festivals or just enjoyed in the environment she was designed for. Survey from 2019 available together with owner's restoration details. Sensibly priced!
